Hey there!

I’m Taryn, a lighting artist by day and a passionate photographer by... well, also by day (and often weekends!).

For the past 8 years, I’ve worked full-time in the VFX industry as a lighting artist for film and TV. It’s a job that taught me how powerful visual storytelling can be — and that same eye for detail, light, and emotion naturally led me to photography.

What started as a creative outlet has become something I truly love. Whether it's capturing the pure joy of a dog mid-run or the quiet, intimate moments of a wedding day, I approach every shoot with the same care and intention I bring to my everyday work in film.

If you're looking for someone who sees beauty in the candid, the chaotic, and can find you all that good lighting — I’d love to work with you!

  • I've worked on 3 VFX Oscar award winning films - Dune: Part 1, Avatar 2: The Way of Water, and Avatar 3: Fire and Ash (I've worked on a total of 14 Feature Films in my career)
  • I have a 5yr old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, who's the reason I started my photography journey

Awards and Accolades

I'm incredibly proud and thankful, that in the last 2 years since getting my camera I've achieved three awards. I've won two Sony Alpha Female Microgrant awards, one for the theme "My Favorite Place" and the other for the theme "In The Moment".

Last year I also entered into the International Pet Photography Awards for the first time, and I was granted Bronze for my photo in the Canine Portrait category.
